There had been something in the look on Angieâs face that Beau didnât want to think about too deeply.
Like sheâd wanted to kiss him.
And given their location, he thought it exceedingly possible it wouldnât have stopped at just a kiss. Something he found himself wanting more than he would have thought so soon in their relationship.
Instead, sheâd rolled the other way and sat up, staring out the glass door leading to the balcony for a moment. âItâs time to get some work done. I donât even really care what kind of work, as long as itâs not mentally stimulating.â
âOkay.â Maybe they could talk about later. He smothered a grin. âWhat about mopping walls?â
She turned and blinked at him. âWhat now? Mum made sure we knew how to mop floors, but we never mopped walls.â
He let out a short laugh and his full smile came out. âCome on. Iâll teach you. Itâs not hard. It takes elbow grease, but not a whole lot of mental acuity.â
âSounds perfect.â She returned his smile.
Taking her hand, they walked down several flights of stairs to an outdoor area that had been mostly protected from the elements and didnât necessarily need to be power-washed, but was a bit dingy. As it was just off the ball room, it seemed likely people would come out here. One of the groundskeeping crew had started on the previous day, but quitting time came before heâd made much progress.
Beau showed her how to work the sprayer, not unlike the one heâd used to spray the drive with. He wished he knew how to make the concoction to finish spraying the drive or what to do with the weeds once theyâd been sprayed. How long would it take to kill them anyway?
âThatâs not hard,â she told him.
âNope. Youâre literally just misting the wall with a cleaning solution. Some areas may need more than others, of course,â he told her with a chuckle as she saturated a particularly dirty spot.
âThen what?â She set the wand down as Beau picked up a long-handled device.
âThis is a pocket mop.â He reached out and flipped the long loops hanging off the mop itself. âThis is a microfiber mop head. It fits over this big flat piece called the frame. Thereâs a bunch of different colors so you can color code your cleaning supplies. Regular green is often in the kitchen. Blue is used for windows, mirrors, and things like that. Red is used for bathrooms and hazard areas, places you definitely donât want to have cross contamination from. This one is for outdoors.â
He gave her the end of the handle. âThen you just press it against the wall and use that elbow grease to scrub it.â
She looked doubtful but did her best. âIâm going to have to figure out how to do this.â
Beau picked up another sprayer and pocket mop. âYouâll get it.â He walked to another wall and began the process again, well aware that she was watching him as he got to work.
